MSG : Making, Sharing, Gathering

Culinary Series

October 2024  -  May 2025

MSG: Making, Sharing, Gathering is an interactive culinary series that invites participants to examine the anthropology of food via cooking rituals and traditions from the Asian American culinary landscape. Through their personal narratives, six Bay Area culinary stars demonstrate how food is a potent cultural practice. These monthly workshops entail unique experiences that celebrate the cuisine of the Asian diaspora, blending nourishment and creativity, resilience and reclamation.

At each workshop, a featured culinary creative will guide us through their culinary journey, offering samples of their signature dishes and sharing the inspirations behind their creations. Through conversations and food demonstrations, we’ll explore how Asian American food continues to evolve and expand, challenging stereotypes and deepening our understanding of Asian American identity.  Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussions with the chefs about their culinary experiences. These gatherings, among friends and community, offer a space to savor both new and familiar flavors, share stories and exchange recipes, make connections and memories with one another.

This series is ticketed with limited capacity. Click on event for details.

*Allergen information for food samples will be provided onsite.
