Letters
As Edge on the Square enters a new chapter, we wanted to give the community the opportunity to write letters to Edge, the team that has carried the organization for the last five years, and the powerfully moving artwork that has been shown. Click each bubble to read the full letter.

Malcolm Young's Love Letter
Edge on the Square is a dream, it's a vision
for the future of Chinatown and our Chinese American community. But as with every dream, we have to catch that dream and translate it into reality. Joanne, you came in at a critical moment in Edge's history - that ethereal and elusive first step in the process of turning vision into implementation. And along the way, you helped create so many beautiful, memorable, and tangible moments for this community. Joanne - you are Edge's first Dream Catcher and have created a path for other
Dream Catchers to follow.
Robyn Mallery's Love Letter

Edge on the Square holds such a special place
in my heart. Through the many tears shed and the laughs echoing through the walls, there was a sense of purpose and belonging. This organization lit a fire that I didn't know was growing embers. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me ask myself questions about who I was and what was my story. I want to thank the whole team, but especially Linda Lui for mentoring me these last few years through Edge. To the Chinatown Community - the spirit Edge has
brought is not going
anywhere!
James Q. Chan's Love Letter
It's been such a joy collaborating with
Edge through the years. The Edge team has left a permanent imprint on my heart. I'll always look back on those post-covid days with so much gratitude, watching the team take on the Herculean task of bringing back the joy of community, the first contemporary arts
festival to fill Chinatown with pride and
celebration and excitement.
You did all of it with so much
love.
