For SUPER FLEX’s opening performance, Japanese-American rapper and producer seiji oda presents “Chanpurū // Champloo チャンプルー”.  The live lyrical performance and DJ set is inspired by the name of an Okinawan stir fry dish meaning “mix together” or “stirred up”, is an exploration of the Asian American musical diaspora. The work juxtaposes softer sounds of classic gems with new edgy and experimental blappers, proposing alternative and expanded ways of being and experiencing via alter egos and multiplicity. seiji’s performance affirms how different genres of expression can coexist and creates a space for Asian peoples of all generations and communities to be joyful together.
