Culture Shock Los Angeles is committed to creating innovative performance pieces that keep the organization at the forefront of Hip Hop dance, melding current and classic dance forms to create our own unique artistic style.
Culture Shock Los Angeles is thrilled to present a piece that aligns with SUPER FLEX: Alter Egos and Shadow Selves. The performance draws on themes Culture Shock Los Angeles has explored in their creative pursuits over the past year, including: releasing your inhibitions, empathy as a vehicle for healing, transformation as both an act of survival and rebellion, and the integration of all parts of the self in order to reclaim holistic identity (and existence).
About Culture Shock Los Angeles
Founded in 1994, is a diverse collective of dancers brought together to exchange ideas, share their passion for dance, and work towards their common goals of contributing to the community and making dance accessible for everyone. The group works to provide education on the rich cultural history and socioeconomic conditions that birthed the Hip Hop movement, showcasing its solid foundation in the arts, and promoting appreciation and respect for the diversity it celebrates. In order to accomplish these purposes, Culture Shock LA has organized its activities into three areas of service: education, empowerment, and entertainment.
