About
Chinatown is making history again! San Francisco’s mayor-elect Daniel Lurie will take over the neighborhood on his inaugural day, January 8th, 2025, with festivities, surprise performances, the popular Night Market and more all over the neighborhood.
All of Chinatown welcomes the mayor-elect this Wednesday with celebratory events that coincide with his inauguration as the 46th mayor of San Francisco. As the oldest Chinatown in the United States, we are thrilled to be a part of setting the tone for an inspiring new era for the City. Lurie's choice to hold his inaugural celebration here reflects the rich heritage and vibrant spirit of this historic neighborhood, as well as its part in adding to the cultural fabric of San Francisco.
For this special, unprecedented event, Edge is co-presenting cultural arts programs with the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco and collaborating with the S.F. Chinese Chamber of Commerce, BeChinatown, and more. Together in community, we have collaborated to created an evening in Chinatown to be remembered for the ages!
